simple wood ceiling design

You don't need to use wild colors and prints to create a unique and playful bathroom. Take, for example, this neutral-hued space by Leanne Ford Interiors. Texture plays a vital role in uplifting the look and feel of your home. That’s why infusing this design element into your ceiling makes sense. A seemingly etched and rustic wood ceiling elevates the look and feel of your home.

Partial Wall to Ceiling Paint

This kind of design can be used in any room for a dramatic atmosphere. For a room on the top floor, construct a slanted wooden false ceiling, and watch it add an interesting twist to a home. Before we begin to explore the designs, we want to assure you that false ceiling designs in wood are the right choice for you. For a coastal style or nautical nudge, combine painted ceiling paneling with natural textures like wood, stone and sisal, and a chalky pastel palette across the remainder scheme.

It adds a perfect rustic touch and enhances the feel of coziness in the space. Using reclaimed wood for an exposed beam will make the space feel lived-in and characterful. From ceiling beams and suspended ceilings to a simple lick of paint, we curated genius ceiling ideas to complement any home style and give it a sophisticated edge. Studio Razavi ushered this old country home in Lyon, France, into the modern era with bold, saturated colors and fresh, architectural designs. Make your dining time more enjoyable by investing in a good décor. A typical American dining area with wooden flooring and bright interiors is seen here. Rustic Charm

If your design personality has an adventurous side, why not commission a custom mural for your ceiling? That's what Isabel Ladd did in the 2023 House Beautiful Whole Home, tasking an artist with painting a proud tiger on the ceiling of the primary closet. Though a mural is a unique—and often costly—choice, it can bring a huge dose of personality to your space. Drenching an entire room in a single paint color makes a stunning statement.

It's also well-advised to customize a sectional that encourages conversation and enhances the architectural structure. To the creative mind, ceilings aren’t just a functional afterthought, but a canvas for innovation, warmth and style. Beautiful DIY Vaulted Ceiling Makeover

Humans have been finding applications for wood since time immemorial. Due to the flexibility of wood, the variety of designs and functions it offers is unlimited. Wooden false ceilings are one of the applications of wood in the present time.

Residential as well as commercial spaces look great with wooden false ceilings. Therefore, one should seriously consider wooden false ceiling designs while planning to design a false ceiling for a modern living room, bedroom, or hall. In our fast-paced lives, we have lost connection with nature.

A simple embodiment of the versatility of wood in interior design and the variety of finishes available, this ceiling adds a subtle grandeur to the living space. In this cozy living space, a dark wood-paneled ceiling paired with with black beams gives a modern rustic feel to the room. The beams, which continue down to the walls, is met with white paint, stunning natural light, and furniture in vibrant teal and red for a look that's anything but dreary.

Emerald green is an alluring jewel-toned color that conveys a strong sense of opulence, elegance, and style. Cornices, on the other hand, are designed to aid a visually attractive transition or conceal unsightly joints between the wall and ceiling. Ceiling roses offer beauty and style to your bedroom and are perfect for spaces with coving or cornices. Just like on your walls, there are near-endless iterations of molding applications you can do to your ceilings.

The eclectic layering is such a nice way to honor the historic bones while marking its design forward present. A sober, sophisticated, minimalistic wood ceiling is ideal for a home buzzing with artsy conversations. Not overdone and not too simple, this ceiling design elevates your home and keeps it subtle. If you are inclined to a no-frills, attached ceiling, a natural wood ceiling will certainly appeal to you. With the most basic use of wood, this type of ceiling makes your home appear dreamy and contemporary at the same time. Go for this ceiling for your love of simple and statement decor.

Wipe down the counters of the bathroom, make sure all used towels are in the laundry, and all borrowed items returned. It’s invasive enough to have house guests and, it will be even more awkward if you’re caught digging around and hunting for something. So, save everyone the embarrassment and simply ask for what you need. Leave the bathroom clean—wipe off the counter, remove hair from the sink, hang your towel to dry and put away dirty laundry. In the kitchen, wash your dishes immediately after eating or, at the very least offer to wash them.

I appreciated that she had done basic cleaning, like changing my sheets for me, but felt completely violated that she had rummaged through nearly all of my stuff in her attempts to “organize”. On your last day, triple-check the bedroom and bathroom for your belongings. Strip the sheets and put them in a pillowcase at the foot of the bed. Do a quick wipe-down of the counters in the bathroom for toothpaste, extra cups, or loose hair. And, of course, return any items to their place, like a book you borrowed from the bookshelf.

Imagine my surprise – and subsequent feelings of privacy invasion – when I returned home to find that her “organizing” had actually been of my bedroom and that all of my belongings had been touched. Including the pile of dirty clothes I had on the floor waiting to be washed, which she folded…and put back into my closet. I admit that I definitely do fall on the side of disorganized, especially in my bedroom, but I KNOW where all of my stuff is. If I wanted everything neatly put somewhere, I would do it myself.

It doesn’t matter if you’re wearing shoes or socks; it’s a no-no, but especially insulting if you have shoes on. I am old and cranky and have encouraged my own children not to have children as I would be what they call a mean grandma. When young friends of ours came to visit us while house sitting in Mexico, I said “sure bring the kids”. My expectation was that since they were such good parents at home, there wouldn’t be any issues.

How to Be Such an Amazing House Guest You Get Invited Back Every Time

There are festivities throughout the weekend, of course, but the White House Correspondents’ Dinner guest list is what we’re all wanting to know. On MSNBC, Ayman Mohyeldin hosts Ayman starting at 7 p.m. PT, MSNBC will be inside the WHCD, again with coverage hosted by Mohyeldin. There is an outdoor fireplace and guests can make use of free WiFi and free private parking. Even if you're used to putting your feet up on the coffee table or relaxing across the sofa in your own home, it is polite to avoid doing this when at somebody else's. Some people do not like feet on the furniture, even if you are wearing socks or slippers, as this may be seen as a sign of disrespect for their home.

Sticking to communal areas such as the living room, kitchen and bathrooms will ensure that you don't risk overstepping the mark and making your host feel uncomfortable. Guests should always consider the hosts’ comfort and avoid behaving as if they’re home. Sometimes, it is better to consult the host on how to go about something you are not sure of like “where to hang the towel to dry”. Always try to leave as minimal mess as possible and better yet, offer to help your host to clean up. Make sure you clear the duration of you stay with your hosts as far in advance as possible—at their invitation, of course. Don't be vague or hope to extend your stay once you arrive.

Beach House last toured Australia in 2016, with a Sydney Opera House show described by The Music as “testament to the band’s enduring commitment to creating unforgettable sonic experiences”. At once intimate and cosmic, Beach House explode onto the stage with glorious finesse and grandeur, bringing their adored songbook to kaleidoscopic life. It was recorded with a live string ensemble, too, and David Campbell provided the arrangements. The album was largely mixed by Alan Moulder with additional mixing work from Caesar Edmunds, Trevor Spencer, and Dave Fridmann.

Dream pop duo Beach House plays a haunted rendition of ‘60s-style pop that is sure to captivate and mystify audiences wherever the group plays on tour. Singer/keyboardist Victoria Legrand is the focal point in concert, supporting her smoky vocals and graceful melodies with retro organ chords. Cutting through melodic basslines and minimal drum shuffles, guitarist Alex Scally weaves an intricate tapestry of chiming guitar notes.

Beach House 100% the best band out there!

These sparse elements sound straightforward enough, but the group slowly adds layer after layer to create a climatic wall of sound on miniature epics like “Zebra”, “Norway”, and “Used to Be”. Ticket buyers can’t help but be swept off their feet as Beach House carefully constructs each intricate and atmospheric gem at their unforgettably hypnotic concerts. The album’s opening title track debuts today on SiriusXMU; listen to Chapter One here. Baltimore-based Beach House released 7, their 7th full-length record, on Mistletone (Australia) and Sub Pop (worldwide). They have been a band for over 13 years and have written and released a total of 77 songs together.

The balcony safety grill comprises horizontal and vertical stainless steel bars in a grid-like pattern. The plainness of the design allows for an unobstructed view and ventilation. This minimalist technique ensures smooth integration with various architectural styles, making it a practical and visually appealing choice. Aluminium is another popular material choice for balcony railing for many people because of its durability and classic look.

So, let’s delve into the diverse and contemporary choices that can redefine your home, creating an inviting haven where every breeze, sunrise, or sunset feels even more special. This iron railing features ornate details and remarkable twisted balusters. As the photo shows, it has a deep taupe iron railing that is both magnificent and welcoming. In addition to generating a contemporary look, the white vinyl railing provides spectacular details. Moreover, the dweller painted the handrail, posts, and balusters pure white.

Its sleek and modern appearance adds a touch of sophistication to any outdoor space. Aluminum balcony railings are not only aesthetically pleasing but also durable and low maintenance. When choosing a railing for outdoor spaces like terraces, decks, or balconies, durability, weather resistance, and aesthetics are crucial. Stainless steel, aluminium, and wrought iron railings are popular choices due to their strength and ability to withstand outdoor elements. Additionally, materials like glass or cable railings can provide a modern and sleek look while allowing for unobstructed views.

Pizza To The People: Tonys Slice House To Open 20+ Franchises Across U S.

Slice House places its focus squarely on producing pizza that pleases, and our owners are in sync with our drive to be one of the best pizza franchises around. I asked Veggiekins website founder Remy Morimoto Park for one of her go-to recipes from her book “Sesame, Soy, Spice” and she named the scallion pesto. It’s a subrecipe made with miso, basil and green onions from her “very green beans” recipe.

This collection of furniture, clocks, porcelain and glass, which has never previously been on the market, has been in Ireland with relatives of the Dawes family for the last three decades or so. One of the highlights of the sale, according to James O’Halloran of the auction house, is that over 80, of the total 370 lots, originate from a Pennsylvania farmhouse built by Abraham Dawes. The property was used as the headquarters by Gen. George Washington [later the first president of the United States] in 1777, during the American Revolutionary War.

Also, there’s a group in Denver that is looking at three locations.

Final passage was expected sometime next week, which would clear the way for Biden to sign it into law. Finally, the Letitia Hamilton painting of a Galway hooker on Claddagh Quay (estimate €8,000-€12,000), is one of a number of paintings worth perusing at Dolan’s Art Auction, which ends on Monday. An 18th century view of the Grand Canal in Venice, from the school of Canaletto (estimate €10,000-€15,000) is among the paintings on sale. The painting, which takes in the view towards the Basilica di Santa Maria della Salute at the entrance to the Grand Canale, is based on a similar composition by the 18th century Venetian painter, Giovanni Antonio Canal, who became better known as Canaletto.

Before it was just me, and now there’s layers to it. Then you have other groups, one of which just bought the rights to Fremont, Dublin and San Jose. Another is looking at the rights to Concord and some other areas.

Pizza franchises can be profitable, but it depends on a variety of factors, such as location, competition, and the quality of the products and services being offered. At Slice House Pizza Franchise, we know that our franchise owners’ growth is growth for the brand. We make sure that our owners understand that you’re never alone when you invest with Slice House. Slice House is ready to support our franchise owners in any way we can, whenever you have an issue. We’ve cultivated relationships with our preferred vendors by years of cooperation, and we use those relationships to help our franchise owners secure quality ingredients at the lowest possible price point. To make pizzas like Tony, you gotta cook like Tony.

Why a vegan restaurant will now serve meat

Elizabeth Poett said her go-to recipe from her “Ranch to Table” book is blueberry yogurt pancakes. When she showed off the pristine page, it looked like it was only missing a few batter splotches to break in the book. "The setting, the architecture, it's all there to convey a sense of feeling," Polyakov says. "The idea of peace and emptiness and quiet beauty were very important in 16th-century Japan. These traditions have carried on for hundreds of years, including today."

We like So Cal, Northern California, Colorado, Arizona, Oregon, Washington. We like Idaho, and we’ve talked to some people in Texas. There’s a lot of deals on the table, but we have twenty secured pretty much. So we got our attorneys and consultants together, and we started the process of becoming a franchise. It took two years to get it done properly, and that said, at this point we’ve sold almost twenty franchises.

As Stephanie Breijo reported this week, she is renaming her restaurants Sage Regenerative Kitchen & Brewery and will add some meat dishes to the menu from animals raised using regenerative farming practices. It is difficult to determine which pizza franchise is the best, as different people have different preferences when it comes to pizza. Some popular pizza franchises include Slice House Franchise.

The unusual four-bill package also includes a measure that includes a threat to ban the Chinese-owned social media app TikTok and the potential transfer of seized Russian assets to Ukraine. Passage of the long-awaited legislation was closely watched by U.S. defense contractors, who could be in line for huge contracts to supply equipment for Ukraine and other U.S. partners. The Senate is set to begin considering the House-passed bill on Tuesday, with some preliminary votes that afternoon.

"It's not the perfect legislation, it's not the legislation that we would write if Republicans were in charge of both the House, the Senate, and the White House," Johnson told reporters on Friday. "This is the best possible product that we can get under these circumstances to take care of these really important obligations." Some hardline Republicans voicing strong opposition to further Ukraine aid argued the United States can ill afford it given its rising $34 trillion national debt. They have repeatedly raised the threat of ousting Johnson, who became speaker in October after his predecessor, Kevin McCarthy, was ousted by party hardliners.

Customers can enjoy great-tasting pizzas in a welcoming, inclusive and fast casual restaurant atmosphere. Food memoirs and cookbooks are consistently among the strongest areas of the book industry. Whimsically describing the last tranche of a large private collection of Irish vernacular furniture and artefacts as “like the wedding feast of Cana where the best wine was saved until last”, Sheppard expects many of the pieces “will have a great resonance” with regular auction goers. The folio of 23 etchings of the Hôtel des Invalides in the 7th arrondissement of Paris (estimate €1,000-€1,500,) may be of interest to collectors of historic books. Now commonly known as Les Invalides, the striking complex of buildings originated as a hospital and retirement home for soldiers (similar to Dublin’s Royal Kilmainham Hospital). It now contains museums and monuments on French military history.

It’s definitely a machine at this point, and there are layers to the company now. There’s the marketing side of it, and the infrastructure of the selling, and the seller. When someone gets vetted, it doesn’t go through me. It goes through a group, and then it goes to another level, and finally gets to  us.

At Braun, our consumers come first and foremost in everything we do. Rams wrote his account of his early years at Braun in an open letter to Erwin Braun in 1979. In the letter, he details his introduction to design and his experience working among talented and engaging people at Braun. Initially Rams worked on a number of different projects for the company, from being involved on a project for a new showroom pavilion for the medical department, to working on Erwin Braun’s own house in Königstein. During this time he got an in depth understanding of how the company operated, developing good relationship with the various teams at Braun. Formative YearsDieter Rams was born in Wiesbaden, Germany, in 1932. As a teenager he loved to watch his grandfather who worked as a carpenter.

A century of design — with and without Dieter Rams — giving credit where credit is due.

Rams’ LegacyDieter Rams remains an enduring inspiration for younger designers, notably Jonathan Ive and Jasper Morrison, who have acknowledged his influence in their work at Apple and Rowenta respectively. To date Rams continues to be an influential figure also through his writings and time-tested designs. Not only was Rams determined to ensure that Braun’s products were easy to use, he wanted people to enjoy using them. This meant that each audio product had to be perfectly attuned to the type of music which was popular at the time. As musical taste changed throughout the 1960s, with the growing popularity of rock, pop, folk and then electronic music, Braun’s engineers constantly strove to adapt. When the LE1 electrostatic loudspeaker was launched in 1960, on the eve of the pop revolution, musical taste was still fairly conventional and the engineers’ objective was to produce a clear, transparent sound for jazz and classical music.

Less and More exhibition

Without even knowing, you probably own either a Braun product or a product inspired by it. Your electric toothbrush, most likely, and your electric shaver, too. Then your blender probably owes something to the German manufacturers. Check the calculator app on your phone — it's inspired by the 1977 Braun ET 33 calculator (more on that later). Please be aware that our efforts to maintain accessibility and usability are ongoing. While we strive to make the Website as accessible as possible some issues can be encountered by different assistive technology as the range of assistive technology is wide and varied.

Five Iconic Braun Products That Changed the Game

The finishing touch was the tip-to-stop function which allowed the user to turn off the alarm simply by tipping the clock backward. This removed the need for a big snooze button, freeing space for a pared-back finish. As the long name suggests, the Braun TS 45 L 450 TG 60 is actually three distinct products fitted together.

The German electronics company Braun was founded 102 years ago and has been owned Procter & Gamble, the umbrella company of Old Spice, Head & Shoulders and Ariel, since 2005. Care and accuracy in the design process show respect towards the consumer. It does not make a product more innovative, powerful or valuable than it really is. It does not attempt to manipulate the consumer with promises that cannot be kept. Their design should therefore be both neutral and restrained, to leave room for the user’s self-expression.

There’s the story of the people who made it, of the materials chosen, and the creative motivation. Only when you understand the story do you understand an object’s meaning. Or so says Dieter Rams, who headed up product design at Braun from 1961 to 1995.

Max Braun died in 1951 and his sons Artur (1925–2013) and Erwin (1921–1992) took over the management of the company. The Braun brothers soon set about reorganizing the company and expanding its product lines. For example, the product range was extended to include additional kitchen appliances, as well as electronic flashguns for amateur photographers. In 1955, Dieter Rams arrived at Braun, quickly making a name for himself within the company. The company won a rapid succession of national and international prizes and awards for its products.Braun became world-famous as a design brand, the first company to bring ‘good design’ to the mass market.

Color was used extremely sparingly and, if at all, only to provide information. This hyper-clean design language was intended to reflect the high sound quality. But while essays, theses, and documentaries have explored Braun's philosophy in granular detail, nothing paints a fuller picture than taking a magnifying glass to the physical products themselves.

braun design

Other designers who worked in Braun's design department include Gerd Alfred Muller,[26] Reinhold Weiss, Richard Fischer, Robert Oberheim, Florian Seiffert, Hartwig Kahlcke, Herbert Hirche, Fritz Eichler, and Ludwig Littmann. One of Germany’s most important and the world’s best known industrial designers. Dieter Rams’ (1) work has an outstanding quality which distinguishes it from the vast majority of industrial design of the entire 20th Century. His products are designed to be timeless, highly functional and pure in its aesthetics.

BraunFounded in Frankfurt in 1921 by the engineer Max Braun, the company had soon gained a sound reputation for engineering and for developing new products, including electric shavers, kitchen utensils and the first combined radio and record player. After Max’s death in 1951, his sons Artur and Erwin Braun took charge and repositioned Braun to benefit from the expansion of the post-war consumer electronics market. It was a time of rapid technological change when manufacturers were harnessing the engineering advances made in the defence industry during World War II to develop new electronic products for consumers. The Braun brothers continued with the production of radio and phone sets, shavers and kitchen utensils initiated by their father. However, having realised that the styling of their products needed to become more sophisticated, in 1954 they asked the tutors of the recently founded Hochschule für Gestaltung (Ulm School of Design) to advise them on product design.

During those formative years Rams absorbed his grandfather’s ways of thinking about work and craft, which Rams credited as being extremely influential for his own development as a designer. In 1947, at sixteen years of age, Rams began a course in Interior Design at the newly reopened Handwerker Kunstgewerbe Schule, in Wiesbaden. However, after only two semesters, he interrupted his studies for a three-year carpentry apprenticeship.

Marking the development of high fidelity – or hi-fi – technology, the black bases made audio units look denser and more compact thereby illustrating their technical strength. Rams was also able to seal the units with unobtrusive elongated and rounded aluminium strips, rather than screws. He then enlarged the knobs and switches of the units to suit the darker palette. Black dominated consumer electronics design for the next thirty years.

WE PROUDLY SUPPORT

We’ve already tested the water for a long time, and we’ve got the track record of Belmont, Haight Ashbury, San Leandro, Walnut Creek. We’ve talked to a lot of people who are looking at three to five locations, and want to secure a region. We want people with some restaurant experience, and they have to be accredited. We’ve had some people reach out to us from other states out here.

Who’s the Slice House pizza franchise founder?

The communications on this web site are not directed by us to the residents of any of those states. Moreover, we will not offer or sell franchises in those states until we have registered the franchise (or obtained an applicable exemption from registration) and delivered the franchise disclosure document to the prospective franchisee in compliance with applicable law. Fast-casual franchises, particularly pizzerias like Slice House, offer a growing, great market with a focus on quality and customer experience. Food franchises account for 30% of the total U.S. franchise industry. When you join the Slice House franchise team, you become part of our family, and we do everything we can to help you attract customers and grow. Pizza franchises are businesses that sell pizza and other related products under a specific brand name and business model. The franchisee, or owner of the franchise, pays a fee to the franchisor (the company that owns the brand and business model) in exchange for the right to use the brand name and business model. We’re ready to expand the Slice House pizza franchise brand across the country, and we’re already off to an exciting start. We’ve developed a franchise model that helps to take the guesswork out of your investment. Want to become part of a pizza franchise that emphasizes quality and customer care? Become a Slice House franchise owner, and help us work to make an impact in franchise pizza. We have a lot of restaurants that we’ve opened; we’ve licensed concepts into casinos, into arenas, stadiums.

We are dedicated to supporting local farmers and vendors. The freshness of local ingredients can be tasted in homemade pizza dough, fresh made sauce and homemade house salad dressing. Slice House by Tony Gemignani, a dynamic pizzeria concept led by the 13-time world pizza champion, delivers an artisan pizza experience born from its 2010 origins in San Francisco’s renowned North Beach district. The complete menu includes salads, fresh pastas and wings that can be paired with a selection of local craft beers and premium wines. The best pizza franchises are likely located in areas with high demand for pizza, such as cities with a large population and a thriving food culture. It is also important for a pizza franchise to have a strong brand and business model in order to attract customers and generate profits.

We believe you should enjoy fantastic Italian food in a friendly environment. We are closed on Sundays to ensure the work/life balance and to allow our employees time off to enjoy their families and friends. You can’t really look at the Slice House here next to Tony’s, and say that’s what these new locations are going to be. Comparing what we have here to what we have evolved into at, say, Walnut Creek, it’s totally different. The Raiders came to us and said we want your pizza, but we want another concept—we don’t want to have eight Pizza Rocks. I hope to segue that to the Oakland A’s when they get to Vegas, because like them, we’re Bay Area born.

We launched five Slice Houses at Raiders Allegiant Stadium this season, so it’s exciting. We had three Pizza Rock kiosks in Allegiant, over the summer. For the season starting, we added four Slice House locations, so we have a total of eight there now. “Meatballs don’t always have to be meat,” writes Paola Briseño-Gonzalez in her latest story for L.A. Slice House, we bring artisan pizza flavors from around the globe right to your plate. With Chef Tony Gemignani, a 13-time World Pizza Champion, at the helm, they've mastered the tastes of New York, Sicily, Detroit, California, and even Nonna's kitchen. Panama Canal Cruises 2024-2025

princess panama canal cruise

A trip is still worth it for the excellent 3D IMAX film narrated by Morgan Freeman, which does a great job explaining the trials, tribulations and perils of building this awe-inspiring feat. You can also stand on the ground-level terrace or grab a seat in the bleachers on the first level to watch ships pass through the final set of locks; sometimes, a staff member is on hand to provide commentary. If you are doing a full transit through to the Pacific Ocean side and you're staying in the area, you might want to carve out some time for the Miraflores Visitor Center. However, as of press time, the four exhibition halls that portray the canal's history, construction, biodiversity and importance are temporarily closed for renovations.

Best Time for Panama Canal Cruises

Sail from Los Angeles or San Francisco on five- to 11-day roundtrip cruises, and stay overnight in Cabo San Lucas on select voyages for a taste of vibrant nightlife. Many Panama Canal and Central America ports are relatively industrial, and some -- particularly Colon and Puerto Limon -- have a reputation for petty crime within the main city. You will likely be safer on a shore excursion, booked through the ship or independently, than if you decide to head on your own into town. If you're not a fan of tours, know that in Colon, city officials have regulated taxis and provided good shopping and cafe facilities at the two main cruise ship docking areas, Colon 2000 and nearby Cristobal Pier. Visit the most popular islands – Maui, Oahu, Kauai and the Big Island – while only unpacking once.

Get to Know the Region

Found in the northern coast of the island of Jamaica, Ocho Rios — Spanish for "Eight Rivers" — is blessed with panoramic views of paradisaical beaches, rainforests, and rivers. Ocho Rios is also a window to the heart of Jamaican culture, and one of the best destinations aboard Panama Canal cruises. Many cruisers consider a cruise through the Panama Canal a must-do, and for a long time, the itineraries drew mostly seniors, due to the length of a full-transit trip (which usually runs 14 days). Partial Panama Canal cruises -- where ships only go halfway through the locks before turning around -- not only cut the number of days, but increase day-trip options in the Central American cities near the canal.

Protect yourself from the sun

Read about the origins of Panama City, Mayan and colonial heritage and naturally beautiful landmarks. Specifically designed to travel through the Panama Canal, the Island Princess is a great choice for those who want to experience a new culture in this region. This ship also has approximately 700 balconies and a majority of its staterooms give travelers a magnificent view of the ocean. Extend your cruise vacation, and simplify your travel plans with a hotel stay at the beginning or end of your cruise. With a Cruise Plus Hotel Package, a Princess representative meets you at the airport and pier, transporting you to and from your hotel.

On a cruise from San Francisco you can experience all that the ‘City by the Bay’ has to offer, from its artistic, forward-looking culture to the beautiful coastline. With the abundance of lounges throughout the Coral Princess, you'll never run out of places to meet and greet with other travelers. Throughout the ship, there are also luxurious dining areas, bars and a casino for adults to enjoy, relax and unwind. Have a volcanic adventure during San Juan del Sur excursions from Princess Cruises. Nicaragua excursions show you dynamic landscapes and exotic wildlife.

Passengers often choose an Atlantic to Pacific or Pacific to Atlantic route, depending on where they live, although you'll gain hours if you choose the latter. If having the full "canal experience" is part of your bucket list -- or if you're an engineering geek and don't care too much about shore excursions within Panama itself -- this trip is for you. Most full Panama Canal cruises do call in the Western Caribbean, the Costa Rican ports of Limon (on the Atlantic side) and Puntarenas (on the Pacific), and Cartagena, Colombia. Relax on top-rated beaches, explore ancient ruins and get immersed in colorful cultures — the laidback Caribbean has lots to love for everyone. Discover the Eastern, Western or Southern Caribbean with a variety of unique itineraries and departure ports. For the first time, Princess is offering a season of 6- and 8-day Eastern and Western Caribbean voyages roundtrip from Port Canaveral on Caribbean Princess®.

princess panama canal cruise

(Can't choose? Combine them for a 14-day sailing!) Or sail aboard the new Sun Princess® from Fort Lauderdale on 5- to 14-day voyages to see both the Eastern and Western Caribbean. Sail round trip from beautiful Fort Lauderdale and reach the Panama Canal to explore the Gatun Locks. These locks take you to Gatun Lake, a marvelous body of water you can explore by signing up for different excursions. You'll see firsthand how the canal works, and then reach some pretty amazing destinations such as Cabo San Lucas, Puerto Chiapas, Punta Arenas, or Ocho Rios.

It rides parallel to the Canal and offers a great view in luxuriously paneled railway cars. Another exciting alternative is to take a trek through the rain forest at Gamboa, or visit an authentic Embera Indian Village on the Chagres River (which often takes place by canoe). Life's too short, so take one of the many Panama Canal Cruises available and discover what many consider to be the best engineering achievement of the 20th century. If you have ever wondered what crossing the Panama Canal would be like, you might have also wondered what the difference is between a full transit and partial transit Panama Canal cruise. Browse our photo gallery of Panama Canal cruising photos from Princess Cruises. Keep in mind, this is just a sample of the sights waiting for you on a Princess Cruises Panama Canal cruise vacation.

So stretch out on a Caribbean beach, admire the pristine rainforests, stroll the cobbled streets of colonial towns and journey through the fabled Panama Canal with Princess. A full transit of the Panama Canal involves passing through six sets of locks, crossing an entire lake and contending with other marine traffic waiting to go through the lock system one at a time. It can take a cruise ship 10 hours or so to cover the 48 miles from the Caribbean to the Pacific. Those on "partial crossings" or simply docked at Colon might consider completing the crossing in a smaller boat. This popular shore excursion begins at Gamboa, one of the towns along the Canal. It takes passengers through the remaining two Canal locks, all the way to the Pacific Ocean.

After crossing, you have easy access to some of the most exotic places on earth. Beautiful cities and towns in the Caribbean and Central America will fill your schedule with cultural immersion tours and thrilling excursions. Visit the San Juan Del Sur, in Nicaragua, a gorgeous, brightly-colored beach community of a nation known for its lakes and volcanoes, and vast cultural treasures. And Cartagena, Colombia; a storied city with castles, history museums, and monasteries.

Similar to the Coral Princess, the Island Princess also has New Orleans-inspired cuisine and The Bayou Cafe and Steakhouse for those who want a taste of this unique culture. There are also several lounges, a Lotus Spa and a casino for those who want to kick back and relax. Traveling on the Island Princess can make this one of the most memorable Panama Canal cruise vacations of your lifetime. Add peace of mind and a sense of security to your vacation with a Cruise Plus® Hotel Package.

The shortest sailings are predominantly offered by small ships, and they begin and end in Central America. The shortest round-trip Fort Lauderdale partial transits are 11 nights; full transits that start on the U.S. East Coast and end on the West Coast (or vice versa) will be at least 14 days long. The partial Panama Canal experience isn't much shorter than a full crossing, but you'll experience the Caribbean-side locks twice and miss out on the Pacific side. On the flip side, the ship will often sail round-trip from Florida, allowing passengers to enjoy various Caribbean ports before and after the transit.

Walk in the footsteps of Mayan warriors in the ancient ruins of Iximche. See how Guatemalan coffee is cultivated, harvested, and processed from the seeding of the coffee bean to the preparation of the coffee beverage during a tour of Filadelfia Coffee Estate. Marvel at the surroundings of Lake Atitlan, tucked between impressive volcanoes. We have the answers so your first time will be nothing but smooth sailing. If you aren't interested in getting wet, there are plenty of other activities you can try to get your fill of all the Panama Canal has to offer.

The package includes the cost of your hotel stay, transportation, luggage handling and the services of the representative. Since the crossing does take a while, especially sailing across Gatun Lake, you might find it fun to watch it from a different vantage point from time to time. You can enjoy views from a hot tub on one of the decks, from your table at lunch or even from a deck that's aft, so you can see the locks after you leave them instead of when you arrive. This port on the western coast of Guatemala provides access to the colonial city of Antigua, which has earned status as a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its architecture and ruins. The port provides a jumping-off point for tours of working coffee plantations, the Pacaya Volcano (one of the country's many active mountains) and Lake Atitlan. There are so many fabulous encounters with nature available from this port, you'll have a hard time deciding on a shore excursion.

The possibilities are endless when cruising to or from the City of Angels. Let your inner rock star shine as you explore the many wonders of Los Angeles, California. With incredible weather, delicious fare and some stupendous attractions, you will find that Fort Lauderdale’s Port Everglades is one of the most attractive ports in the entire US.

Wear a hat and long-sleeved clothes if you can, apply sunscreen before heading out on deck — and reapply often — and drink plenty of water all day. While passing through Gatun Lake, you'll be amazed at how wide it is in spots. At 180 square miles, it was the world's largest artificial lake at the time it was constructed. Don't miss the Culebra Cut, an artificial valley through the Continental Divide made by cutting through the Culebra Mountains; it's recognizable by the staked, stepped cuts. Keep in mind that die-hard canal lovers will stand on deck the entire time, blocking the view from inside, so be prepared to move around.
